This is exciting news as we have received official information from Farmers Market New Zealand our national body.
‘Secretary to the Covid Response Minister, Chris Hipkins wrote ….. to say that they have reviewed the position regarding farmers’ markets and following consultation and legal advice and have made a change, “farmers’ markets are able to be treated as retail businesses at Level 2” This means that there are no restrictions on the number of people who can attend. However, everyone attending must keep 2m away from people they don’t know, wear a face mask and sign in. If ready to eat food is sold to be consumed at the market, everyone must be seated to be served.’
