Flaveur Bread are the sourdough bread specialists at the Market. This year they are extremely excited to be able to bake Rewena bread buns as a celebratory bread for Matariki. Rēwena Bread is a traditional Māori potato bread, which is similar to sourdough. The word Rewena in Maori comes from ‘rewa’, which is potato. The fermented potato is used instead of yeast, giving the bread a slightly firmer texture.
